CONFLICT
DSB: First off conflict I want to thank
you for taking time out to give Da
Street Buzz this interview. So how
are you this evening?
Conflict: I'm doing fine I’m blessed I
can’t complain just dealing with this
crazy weather.
DSB: I feel you its crazy right now in
Cali.

DSB: Well for the record, who is
Conflict for those who may not know
you and where are you from?
Conflict: Um well I’m Conflict from
Hawthorne Ca I’m a rapper, singer,
writer, producer and engineer. I
have been a rapper for over 10 yrs
well of which 6 serious years. I
actually started in a group and that
didn't work out so I branched out on
my own started making beats and
Producing. Now up to this point I’m with Blu Division which is G Malone’s imprint label.  Basically I’m out here grinding
for the coast trying to make an impact into the music industry.

DSB: You mentioned you Rap and Sing. Out of the two which 1 do you have the passion for the most?
Conflict: Ahh I love rapping because that’s natural been doing it so long. I like singing but I was never serious about
it. What I love most about singing is the challenge of it all.  I love the creative aspect of being a singer so I would
have to say Rap would be my first choice.

DSB: Since you’re a singer are you more willing to do an R&B album opposed to a Rap Album?
Conflict: I don't know about that one but my album will consist of both just to give the people something new by the
way the album is called 5150.

DSB: Where do 5150 come from?  Here in Cali it means crazy.
Conflict: Well I mean the title comes from the music its just crazy you hear the R&B side then you hear the Rap side
and your going to wonder how in the hell do all of this come out of one person. You know what I’m saying I got the
title from the concept of the album and what I was trying to do musically. I wanted to express Thur my music my R&B
side and Rap side.

DSB: As far as working, what projects are you currently working on?
Conflict: Well right now my main focus is the mix tape Back to the Basics which dropped Jan 17th  hosted by HED,
big ups to HED and my boy Chuck Dizzle. It has lots of features we really moving that right now. I’m also releasing an
R&B song on Valentines Day for the ladies so be on the look out. The video is dropping from my boy Stage big ups
to him called All Nite Flight which features me. That should drop FEB or March. We busy working on a lot. Can’t
speak on much but as a camp we working be on the look out my face is going to be everywhere. A lot of things we
just getting it in.

DSB: How are your feelings toward the West Coast and the role we play right now in the industry?
Conflict: I feel we good I feel it’s a lot of talent. As a whole we have a lot of good talent, but I think were spoiled. We
wait for it to just happen and that’s not the cast. Things don't happen we have to grind and get it. Man we got Jay
Rock Glasses, Nipsey, Problem and the list goes on

DSB: Do you feel the West can takeover?
Conflict: I really feel like we about to do a takeover just a lot of bubble gum music being played now and it really
doesn't’t sale. Its time for the game to turn our way.  Gucci going jail lil Wayne TI all the heavy hitters. So the game
will be wide open for someone to come thru and to put that stamp on it and it will be the West Coast.

DSB: You mention some big names how do you feel about their situations.
Conflict: Well I fell for one what they do in they life is their business. No one is perfect just because of the name they
have the spotlight is bigger and more magnified. I feel like as long as the music is OK we should not even care what
they do behind the music. They provide good music and no one should  put  the responsibility on an artist to be a
role model

DSB: What artist do you like most?
Conflict: Right now Jay Z. The level of music he is on is incredible. To me this is the  best he has ever been. He still
making real party and not the bull shit been hearing.  2pac inspires me  Biggie, Cube Snoop list goes on.

DSB: Blu D, what are your perks?
Conflict: Um just pretty much having access. My resources are stronger access to things I never had before. The
shows are different. People gravitated to Blu Division. Now all eyes are on the artist that we have because GMalone
has made such a noise people want to see what’s next.

DSB: Do you have a release date yet?
Conflict: Actually I don’t have a date. The album is 95% done right now.

DSB: Any last words for anyone?
Conflict: Believe in yourself keep moving. Always push no matter how many doors close in your face make your own
way. Always market yourself and understand its hard work and embrace the work and experience you get from your
grind. Only you can stop you.

DSB: Any Shout outs?
Conflict: Thank you Vena and Big ups Blu Division most def the entire West Coast and the mindset for 2010. Big ups
to everyone with the mindset of grinding and going after what you want Remember the Mix tape is everywhere
